This August Enjoy
the Outdoors with Open-Air Markets and Movies
This summer, the Pickering Museum
Village makes it easy to spend time as a family and to put
healthful, wholesome food on your table -- while supporting
local agriculture, and doing your part for the environment. Skip
the grocery store and cinema, come to Farm Fresh Flicks!
Running every Wednesday night in
August, Farm Fresh Flicks combines a farmers market with an
under-the-stars family movie night. Beginning at 4:30 pm, you’re
invited to the museum village for a Farmers Market in the
parking lot, offering goods from local farms and producers. The
market will run until 8:00 pm. Pickering Museum Village
volunteers will lead the children in games, then everyone can
settle in to watch a family film. On August 6 we’ll be showing
The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep; on August 13
FernGully: The Last Rainforest; on August 20 Night at the
Museum; and on August 27 Tom and Huck.
If you are a grower or producer
or craftsperson, you are welcome to call 905.683.8401 to reserve
space at the market. The space is free. Baked goods and produce
may be sold from your vehicle, or you can bring a table to
display your wares. Check cityofpickering.com/museum for updates
and vendors.
Pickering Museum Village is
located on Hwy #7, 3 km east of Brock Road, just 10 quick clicks
from downtown Pickering. Look for our big bell tower sign on the
south side of the highway. For more information contact the
museum village at 905.683.8401 or visit cityofpickering.com/museum.
