Join us in Rouge Park for a March Break guided walk
along many of our trails.
Walks meet at various points in the Park. Please

Recommended for children 7+. Younger kids welcome –
best to have a child carrier, strollers not
permitted.
Join your guide by the Rouge Park marked car at the
meeting point about 10 minutes ahead of the start
time. Bring 1 litre of water (try a reusable bottle)
and a snack. Trails could be damp, slippery and/or
muddy - wear proper footwear for trails. Dress for
the weather and add on a waterproof jacket and a
warm layer.

Girls Day Out
Girls Incorporated of Durham’s annual “Girls Day
Out!” play day fundraiser is a great way to spend a
day. This is a day for women to gather and try out
new activities or join in on some old favourites.
From chocolate making or martini mixing to belly
dancing or karate. Women ages 19 and up will enjoy
themselves while benefiting Girls Inc. at the same
time. Of the approximately 34 classes offered,
guests will have the chance to participate in four
of their top choice classes, along with an amazing
lunch, silent auction, and much more. All the
proceeds raised from this event go directly to
support Girls Inc. programming which gives girls the

7th annual fashion show at the McKinney Centre in

Break the Guitar
Record
On May 27th an attempt will be made to break
the World Record for the Largest Guitar Ensemble.
The previous record was set in Texas, USA in August
2009 at 1,867 guitarists. The venue for the event
is the General Motors Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.
This facility has the capacity to hold approximately
7,000 guitar players. Event organizers are pushing
to fill this arena to capacity, thus breaking the
current world record. The regulations state that a
song must be played in unison for 5 minutes. The
song "Takin' Care of Business" was chosen, as the
rhythm section is simply played on the guitar. The
event is open to all guitar players. To learn more
